History UnCorked: Lighthouse Lore
Thursday, August 24th
7:00 – 8:00 pm
Lewis Noah with Friends of Point No Point Lighthouse will share the many tales of this historic land spit in Hansville. We’ll learn how the site’s significance has changed over time, initially serving as a trading post for our areas First Peoples, then becoming the site where the 1855 land Treaty of Point No Point was signed into action and later as the location of the iconic lighthouse built in 1879. The Point No Point Light Station is Washington’s oldest operating lighthouse on the Puget Sound. Lewis will share stories of some of the keepers that have ensured continuous operation of the lighthouse since the day it was built.
