Hours

Kitsap History Museum is open 10am – 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and noon – 4pm on Saturdays.  Also now open noon – 4pm on Sundays in July and August!  We’re also open the First Friday of each month until 7pm for Bremerton’s First Friday Art Walk.

ACCESSIBILITY

All exhibits are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair is available at no charge. An elevator provides access to the second floor exhibits.

Directions

The Kitsap Peninsula and Bremerton are easily accessible via ferry from the east and north through the ferry terminal in Seattle, the Edmonds/Kingston ferry, and the West Seattle/Vashon  Island/Southport ferry. Our beautiful county is easily accessible via vehicle from the south on Interstate 5 through Tacoma or Olympia, and from the west via the Hood Canal Bridge on Highway 104 from the Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Park.

  1. Turn right on Washington Ave
  2. Turn left on 4th Street
  3. Museums are next to the historic Roxy Theater on the right, just past the restored green and gold Jorgen Nelson street clock

  1. Exit the ferry using the underground tunnel onto Burwell Street
  2. Turn right at the stop light at the intersection of Burwell Street and Warren Avenue
  3. Turn right at the stop light at the intersection of Warren Avenue and 6th Street
  4. Turn right at the stop light at the intersection of 6th Street and Washington Avenue
  5. Turn right from Washington Avenue onto 4th Street
  6. Museums are next to the historic Roxy Theater on the right, just past the restored green and gold Jorgen Nelson street clock
  1. Exit the ferry going southeast on WA-104E, following the signage to WA 305N/Bond Road
  2. Turn right at the stop light at the intersection of Bond Road and WA-305N in Poulsbo
  3. Turn right to merge onto WA-3S towards Bremerton
  4. Take the WA-310E/Kitsap Way exit
  5. Turn left onto WA-310E/Kitsap Way
  6. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto 11th Avenue
  7. Move to the right lane of 11th Avenue; follow 11th Ave. to where it turns to the right and becomes Washington Ave.
  8. Follow Washington Ave to 4th Street
  9. Turn right onto 4th Street
  10. Museums are next to the historic Roxy Theater on the right, just past the restored green and gold Jorgen Nelson street clock
  1. Exit the ferry going southwest towards SE Southworth Ferry Drive.
  2. Continue straight onto SE Southworth Ferry Drive
  3. Continue straight onto SE Southworth Drive
  4. Turn left onto WA-160W/SE Sedgwick Road
  5. Turn right onto the ramp for WA-16W to Bremerton
  6. Merge onto WA-16 W
  7. Merge onto WA-3N
  8. Use the right two lanes to take exit 36 for WA-304E towards Ferry Dock/Bremerton
  9. Continue straight onto WA-304E/Charleston Blvd.
  10. Use the right two lanes to turn right onto Burwell Street
  11. Continue straight on Burwell Street.
  12. Turn left onto Washington Avenue
  13. Turn left onto 4th Street.
  14. Museums are next to the historic Roxy Theater on the right, just past the restored green and gold Jorgen Nelson street clock.
Via Vehicle
  1. Exit I-5 in Tacoma onto WA-16W
  2. Follow steps 6 through 14 of the directions from the Southworth Ferry Terminal once you reach WA-16W
  1. Take Highway 101 north to the Shelton/Highway WA-3N exit
  2. Follow WA-3N through Shelton and Belfair to Bremerton
  3. Follow steps 8 through 14 listed above in the Southworth Ferry Terminal directions
  1. Take Highway 305 to Poulsbo
  2. Follow steps 3 through 10 of the Kingston Ferry Terminal directions to the museums.
  1. Take Hansville Road NE to WA-104W
  2. Continue straight onto WA-307W/Bond Road
  3. Follow steps 2 through 10 of the Kingston Ferry Terminal directions.
  1. Take WA-104W, continuing straight onto WA-3S at the intersection with the stop light. (Do not turn right onto the Hood Canal Bridge.)
  2. Follow steps 4 through 10 of the Hansville Ferry Terminal directions above.
  1. Take WA-101S to WA_104E
  2. Exit on WA-104E towards Bremerton
  3. Cross the Hood Canal Bridge.
  4. Turn right onto WA-3S towards Bremerton
  5. Follow steps 4 through 10 of the Hansville Ferry Terminal directions above.
