At the Kitsap History Museum, May 28, 7 pm
Step into the rich and enduring story of athletic excellence in Kitsap County. At the May 28 Uncorked, Noah Garguile and Chuck Stark guide visitors through the origins, evolution, and lasting impact of the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable—an organization dedicated to preserving local sports history and supporting future generations.
Founded in 1967 as the Bremerton Athletic Roundtable, the organization partnered with the Kitsap Oldtimers Association to honor athletes through the Baseball/Softball Hall of Fame inductions from 1987 to 2003. In 2005, it became the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable, expanding its mission to serve all sports with an emphasis of supporting youth and amateur athletics across the county.
The Community Case exhibit in the museum highlights the remarkable athletes who have risen from Kitsap to compete at collegiate and professional levels, alongside the community members and businesses whose support has sustained these achievements. Through annual events such as the High School Softball and Baseball All-Star Games, the Kitsap Sports Hall of Fame, and ongoing scholarship programs, the Roundtable continues to invest in the region’s athletic future.
Noah Garguile is KAR’s president and a former U.S. Air Force Academy football player. Chuck Stark is a longtime sports editor and coach and a member of the Roundtable since the 1970s. Together, they’ll share stories that connect past and present, honoring a tradition that continues to inspire.
The Kitsap Athletic Roundtable remains committed to its founding vision: ensuring that the stories, accomplishments, and spirit of Kitsap’s sports community endure for generations to come.
