Alyce & Loxie Eagans

Alyce Eagans (1829-2016) & Loxie Eagans (1919-1981)

Alyce and Loxie Eagans lived in Sinclair Heights. They were also part of founding Bremerton’s NAACP branch, and their hard work helped many individuals find and keep employment at PSNS. The efforts helped guide Bremerton to a city that embraces all, regardless of their racial makeup, and both served as president of the local NAACP at different times. Loxie, who died in 1981, now has a street named after him near where Sinclair Heights was located, and Alyce passed away in 2016. The Eagans served on many civic boards, from Kitsap Action Program to the YWCA and were active in the Bremerton Central Lions and Bremerton school board, along with leading the Washington State Usher Association.
