Her work, our story
Our new exhibit, challenges the idea of “What is women’s work?” Breaking free from traditional stereotypes, this showcase celebrates the diverse achievements of trailblazing women who defied societal expectations. “Her Work, Our Story” not only celebrates the achievements of individual women but also challenges visitors to reconsider their preconceived notions of gender roles and limitations. By showcasing the diverse talents and accomplishments of Kitsap County’s women, the exhibit boldly declares that there truly is no limit to what women can achieve.

Trade of the Northwest
The show explores trade by Native American Tribes along the Northwest Coast over thousands of years, as well as the unique “trade language” of Chinook that enabled communicaiton along trade corridors. “Trade of the Northwest” is brought to you by the JayHawk Institue’s Duane and Betty Pasco.
The JayHawk Institute… “it was founded out of the desires of noted Pacific Northwest Native Style artist Duane Pasco and his wife Betty, a Suquamish tribal elder and weaver/artist/teacher to pass on their considerable knowledge of, and passion for, Pacific Northwest traditions and culture. Duane and Betty have long been involved in teaching and sharing their arts to students, tribal members and others who share their interests in this amazingly rich heritage. The JayHawk Institute is a means of broadening that effort and assuring that it endures.”
