We stand in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter and protesters in our community and  around the nation. We mourn the losses of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others who have lost their lives to police violence. We want you to know we are collectively listening, we are grieving with you, and we support action in calling for social justice. Museums cannot claim neutrality in addressing the horrific issues that have plagued our society for centuries.

“The museum field not only has a responsibility to ask the hard questions and learn from each other; we have a unique duty to listen, to chronicle the lessons and histories of our communities, and to educate future generations so that we might stop this senseless violence.”
